VISUAL IDENTITY / Caju, Le Petit Hotel
Caju, Le Petit Hotel is located in Madeira, in a historic neighborhood of Funchal, in the old Caju building. It is a boutique hotel, with only 24 rooms.
The hotel's Visual Identity is inspired by the building's history and is in tune with the decor and its "petit" side. The Art Nouveau symbol inspiration, from the golden age of classic hotels in Europe, reproduces a detail of the architectural façade with a minimal interpretation.
The word Caju is written with Grifo typeface, made by Rui Abreu, a Portuguese typeface designer. It suggests the classic side of the building with the glamor of a boutique hotel. In contrast with Grifo, I design the typography of "Le Petit Hotel", linear and minimal like the symbol and also the hotel signage.
In addition to the hotel's Visual ID, I also developed the Visual ID of its restaurant, Prima Caju. These two projects were made in collaboration with Wonder\Why agency.
